Adam Kolodziejski, 84, of Hale

Adam Ellsworth Kolodziejski passed away on August 24th, 2023 at home, surrounded by his loving family and a few close friends. It brings to an end the long struggle he endured with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) and Parkinson’s. Adam was born on April 13, 1939 in Hale, MI, to Lila (Slosser) and Adam Kolodziejski. He was the oldest of three children, having two sisters, Arlene and Janet. He was a multi-faceted man, growing up on the farm and going to college before joining the merchant Marines and then the Navy, where he served many years stateside as a radio man and retiring as Chief Petty Officer.

Adam loved to sail Lake Huron and loved fishing, especially for salmon. He had been fascinated with flying as a young boy, and in the 90s, obtained his pilot’s license and bought a plane! In 2002, he decided to start a vineyard on the family farm, which eventually would lead to the establishment of Rose Valley Winery in Rose City, right next to his steel fabrication business, Admin Inc.

Adam was married twice. His first marriage produced three daughters, Stephanie, Yvette, and Jennifer. In 2003 he married Nancy (Gunning) and became a loving stepfather to Shaun and Kevin. In his lifetime, Adam has touched several people with his acts of kindness and willingness to help others. He has a wide circle of loving friends who will miss his upbeat personality and calm demeanor.

He was predeceased by his father, Adam, mother Lila, sister, Arlene, and granddaughter, Ashley. A Celebration of Life will take place in his beloved Hunting Hawk Vineyard, near Hale sometime this fall. Memories and condolences can be shared at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.

Obituary lovingly written by family.
