Age 93, passed away peacefully at her home in East Tawas, Michigan. Arline was born to the late Alex and Chloe Schiefsky on June 30, 1930, in Alcona County, Michigan. Arline spent the first portion of her life growing up in Harrisville, Michigan. When she was about seven years old her family moved to the Detroit area where she was for the remainder of her childhood. Following her high school graduation, Arline found her home in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan, where she spent several years working and raising a family. On June 24, 1989, she married the love of her life, Robert Emke. The two moved themselves up to East Tawas, Michigan in the 1980s, and shared many amazing years together in the area before Robert’s passing in 2016. Arline’s occupation fell in the Newspaper Industry as she filled the secretary role for the Newspaper Advertising Bureau. Some of her hobbies consisted of painting, traveling, crafting, and spending time with her family. Arline is also a lifelong “Master Bridge Player” due to her love for playing the game of Bridge, something she did even into her eldest years. She is even mentioned in a Bridge playing book for her accomplishments and dedication to the game. Arline was a sweet and loving woman, and she will be missed dearly by many.
Arline is survived by her children, Richard Olesak and Susan Toles; grandchildren, Rodney Olesak, Linsay Cathy, Carlyn Drzewiecki, Lauren Johnstal, Kris Toles, and Amy Sobczak; great-grandchildren, Parker, Lucas, Samantha, Chace, Kailyn, Ryan, and Matthew. In addition to her parents, Arline is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Emke; and her children; Michele Reschke and Patrice Smaller.
There will be services held for Arline beginning with a visitation at Buresh Funeral Homes in Tawas City, Michigan, on Thursday, August 10th, 2023, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM. There will be a rosary service beginning at 7:00 PM during the visitation period. The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 11, 2023, at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas, Michigan. The family will welcome the public at the church starting at 10:00 AM.
