Al Cartwright, 79, of Hale

Allan C. Cartwright, age 79, of Hale, MI passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital in Tawas City, MI. He was born on January 21, 1944, in Cadillac, MI to the late Emery and Mabel Cartwright (Sparks). Al was raised in Manton, MI and after graduation from High School, he joined the United States Air Force. Al retired after 12 years and was honorably discharged as a Senior Master Sergeant. He later owned and operated A & D Copiers out or Birch Run and Saginaw, MI. Al learned the maintenance trade on copiers while in the service and turned it into an entrepreneurship, selling and servicing copiers at many locations across mid-Michigan. He was a member of the VFW, American Legions, the Moose Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Al loved riding and racing motorcycles, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, and his time in the outdoors. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends (new & old) and his dogs. Al is survived by his wife Jennifer Cartwright of Hale, MI; 2 daughters, Shari (Thomas Raniszewski) Cartwright of Delaware, Denise (Robert Hines) Cartwright of Lupton, MI; 3 stepchildren, Catherine (Kenneth Harrison) Kacir-Spires of National City, MI, James (Destiny) Kacir of Harrison Twp, MI, Edward Kacir of Tawas City, MI; 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Virginia Potts of Delaware, and June (Bruce) Martin of Virginia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 great granddaughters and brother-in-law Bob Potts. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
