Arriving in time for Christmas 1958, Robin Ray Colbath departed this world just months shy of his 65th birthday on June 9th, 2023. Born to Arnie and Yvonne (Gardner) Colbath, Robin was the oldest and ringleader of their three children.
Rob was an outdoor enthusiast, living a great deal of life in nature. He particularly enjoyed the woods, frequenting the wild spans of open acres in the Upper Peninsula with family and friends. Eventually he purchased a cabin in the UP where he entertained all who could join him.
Rob had a dry sense of humor found only in the kind of man who was forged by nature no matter what kind of weather she threw at him, loving everything from snowmobiling in the middle of frigid snow to fishing during the dog days of summer. He passed on this love to his children and grandchildren, often taking trips with them in his side-by-side.
Like Norm in Cheers, everyone knew Rob’s name at the Hilltop bar in Oscoda and he was never without a beer drinking buddy. His humorous nature will be sadly missed by many.
Left to keep alive his spirit in the outdoors are his children; Brandon Colbath (Autumn Sexton) and Jennifer Miller (Tyler Jordan); grandchildren, Levi, Lane, and Jalen; sisters, Diane (Randy) Ball and Debbie Myles (Pavan Muzumdar) and countless friends.
A Celebration of Rob’s life will take place Friday, June 16th at 11:00 am at the St. John’s Episcopal Church in Oscoda with Pastor officiating. Visitation will take place from 10:00 am to the time of service at the church. A luncheon will follow at the Hilltop Bar.
