Elsie Maser, 94, of Au Gres

Elsie D. Maser, fondly referred to by her loved ones as “Nonnie” passed away peacefully at the age of 94. Elsie was born to Walter and Zella Pendred on July 1, 1928. She met the love of her life, Clinton John Maser when she was 14 years old. Her parent’s believed Elsie was too young, but Elsie knew Clinton was her one and only. With much persuasion and supervision from her big sister, Elsie and Clinton began dating and were married a few years later. They had three children: Janet, Alan, and Ross. Elsie worked at the phone company for many years. She loved crafting, doing puzzles, cooking, bowling in her early years, playing cards with her sisters, being a Bob Ross art fanatic, and spending time with her family, especially around the holidays.

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband; Clinton Maser; her parents, Walter and Zella Pendred; brothers, Ross, Ted, Victor, and Richard; and sisters, Sue and Carol. Elsie is survived by her children, Janet (Jack) Haenlein, Ross (Lynn) Maser, and Alan Maser; grandchildren, Christopher, Amy, Jennifer (Rodney), Robyn (Dan), Chase, and Kady; great-grandchildren, Darci (Brian), Taylor, Brian, Raven, Sydney, Chaz, Lance, Marlee, Keason, Abigail, Tiah, Nicholas, Rogan, and Trevor; great-great grandchildren, Darin and Kaycee; and her beloved sisters, Eileen, Pauline, Phylis, Alice, and Zella Jean.

There will be a time of visitation for Elsie at Buresh Funeral Home in Au Gres, Michigan, on Sunday, June 11, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, and on Monday, June 12, 2023 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Her funeral service will then follow visitation and begin at 12:00 PM on Monday, June 12, 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family asks the public to send any donations to the Arenac County Historical Society or the Arenac Christ Methodist Church in Elsie’s memory.
