Norma Jean Parker Mielke Holmes passed peacefully in her sleep at home, May 19, 2023, from Cancer. Norma was born on 10/27/46 in Louisville, KY. Moved to Saginaw, MI with her parents and brother when she was in the 3rd grade. Married Floyd Mielke in July of 1964. Moved to the Sand Lake area in 1966. Norma loved knitting, crocheting, fishing, gardening, camping, the outdoors and spending time with her family. She did daycare out of her home, worked for Lutz’s party store in Sand Lake, and Hester’s IGA in East Tawas.
After Floyd passed in 1990 Norma remarried in 1992 and moved to Florida. Norma worked at Beall’s from 2000-2010 when she retired. After retirement Norma enjoyed golf cart rides, watching the dolphins and manatee and spending time with friends. In 2015 they moved back to Michigan to be closer to family.
Norma was Predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Lee Roy and Amanda (Harrison) Rumsey;
Paternal grandparents, Frank and Myrtle (Craig) Parker; parents Clarence and Margaret Maxine (Rumsey)Parker; First husband Floyd Mielke; brother Gerald Parker and niece Tracy Lee Parker. Survived by her daughter Dorene Schunk of Tawas City, MI; son Raymond Mielke (Darlene Whyte) of National City, MI; stepchildren Forest (Pam) Holmes of Pocatello, Idaho; Mark Holmes of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; Peggy (Ed) Pipesh of Whittemore, MI; John (Sue) Holmes of Las Vegas, Nevada; Greg (Shae)Holmes of Columbus GA.
Grand children Gary (Kristy) Rose; Ian Mielke; Dylan Rose (Shanin Call); Matthew (Holland) Holmes; Andrew (Abbie) Holmes; Katelyn Holmes (Jose Guerra); Brandon (Angela) Pipesh; Lacey (Casey) Selman; Corey (Danielle) Holmes; Jacob, Cole, Audrey and Gabriel Holmes; Graeson and Lathan (Obie) Holmes.
Great grandchildren Hailee, Mikaila, Seth and Ailani Rose; Parker Holmes; Ben, Wesley and John Guerra; Cayden, Carley and Colton Pipesh; Landon, Carson, Giselle and Gunner Selman; Cayden and Brystal Holmes; many nieces, nephews and friends.
