David Frederick Smith, Jr., age 71, of Grayling, Michigan passed away from this life on February 28, 2023.
Dave was born on May 27, 1951 in Cass City, Michigan to David and Laura (Sammons) Smith, Sr. Dave entered the United States Army in 1971 until his honorable discharge in 1992 as Master Sergeant. He worked for Milltown Electric for 20+ years, was a member of the VFW and supported many of their causes. Dave enjoyed helping those around him and he will surely be missed.
David is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janis Lee (Wright) Smith; children David C. Smith and Trisha (Jeff) Vickers; grandchildren Layla, Haylee, and Dawson; and many nieces and nephews.
David is preceded in death by his parents Dave and Laura and his brothers Doug Welsh, Dee Welsh, Wesley Smith, and John Smith.
A Memorial Service in Memory of David will take place at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on March 11, 2023 at 11:00 am with visitation starting at 10:00 am and resuming until 1:00 PM following the service.
