George Dunn, 71, of Alger

Robert “George” Dunn age 71, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 23, 2023, at his home. He was born on July 27, 1951, in West Branch, Michigan to the late George & Lydia (Garrity) Dunn. He married the love of his life Brenda Gray on June 11, 1995, in Alger, Michigan.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army. After service, he worked for the United States Postal Service and was a postal carrier until retirement. He was always a farm boy at heart and had a passion for the family farm which kept him in Alger his entire life. George had a strong faith in God and was passionate about his relationship with Jesus. He was a member of the Alger United Methodist Church, he enjoyed talking about politics, watching western movies and lengthy conversations, all of these with a big smile on his face.

Surviving besides his wife of 27 years are their children LeeAnna (Jacob) Richards, Amber (Jason) Northrup, Wesley (Colleen) Dunn and Jared (Tabitha) Doran, grandchildren; Alaina, Ethan, Louis, Lilly, Jack, Johnathan, Liam, Wesley, Eliza, Ezlin, Zaden, Zaine, Hayleigh, Jesicah and Dominic, great grandchildren Evelyn and Raylynn and a son in law Chad Nicklyn, siblings Lois (Larry) Hilton, Joyce (Tim) Collins, Jack (Denise) Dunn, Joann Taylor and Calvin (Patty) Dunn, as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues. He was predeceased by a daughter Melanie (Dunn) Nicklyn. Upon his passing George, the great man of faith he was, left the message, John 16: 20-24.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Standish Chapel.
