Tom Osstyn, 65, of Hale

Tom Alan Osstyn born February 19, 1957 died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on November 20, 2022. At the age of 65.

Tom is survived by his adoring wife of 38 years, Laura Marie Osstyn,

His children: Wendy Gregor (Brian), Curtis Osstyn, Angela Barclay (Jordan)

Grandchildren: Makayla, Mason, Anella, & Jonah.

Also surviving are Toms brothers: David Osstyn, Tod Osstyn (Kelly)and John Osstyn (Becky).

Along with many brother and sister in-laws and nieces and nephews and his mother in law Darlene Kwit.

Tom was proceeded in death by his parents Tom Charles Osstyn and Gail Lannette Osstyn. And his brother Steve Osstyn.

Tom was the eldest of 5 sons born to Tom and Gail Osstyn of Union Lake, MI, now known as Commerce MI.

Tom was a third generation General Motors employee and proud to be part of the UAW local 594 for 31 years.

Tom was a quiet kind hearted man. The kind of man that would stop to move a tiny turtle off the road, or help a stranded motorist. The kind of man who would get up and go outside at 6 am. barely light… to build a fort with his 2 youngest grandchildren Anella and Jonah on a chilly November day. Or fix a little antique boat motor with his eldest grandson, Mason and take a ride around the lake. The pride he gets in his eyes when he talks about Makayla, our family free spirited brilliant oldest granddaughter is overwhelming.

Those 4 grandchildren were his pride and joy. His hopes and dreams for his families future.

Tom has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date where his ashes will be placed at the Edmond Evergreen Cemetery in Hale Michigan.

In leui of flowers please donate to AML or Heart research societies. Thank you for all of your prayers.
