James J. Mason, 91 years, passed away August 25, 2022 in the presence of his wife of 68 years, Nilah.
Jim retired from the C & O Railroad after 35 years of employment. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, canoeing and gardening – sharing all with his family, especially teaching his grandchildren how to fish. Jim was proud of his service to country, serving in the Army.
He is survived by his wife, Nilah; daughter, Natalie (Ken) Peterson and son, Roger (MaryAlice); grandchildren, Nick (Andrea) Peterson, Chris (Ashley) Peterson, Allison and James Mason; great-granddaughter, Leah Peterson; sisters, Darlene (Gary) Christensen, Dixie McCarthy, and Elaine (Bob) Mattison, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Burns and brother, Ray Mason.
His family has chosen to remember him privately as he desired.
