Erwin Gustav Adolph Jr., 90, of Hale

Erwin Gustav Adolph Jr., age 90 of Hale, MI., passed away on June 8, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.

Erwin was born on March 24, 1932 in Washington, PA to the late Erwin Gustav Sr. and Klara (Fiedler) Adolph. He served in the Army during the Korean War and received the National Defense Service Medal. In August of 1955 he married the love of his life, Nancy (Brunke) Adolph and they had almost 67 wonderful years together.

Erwin went to work for Chrysler as a tool and die engineer and after 32 years retired in 1987. Most importantly, he loved his wife and family. He built his own home on West Londo Lake, which included several additions over the years. He enjoyed pontooning on the lake playing polkas, fixing things around the home & his vehicles, cutting grass, farming and planting trees.

Erwin is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Linda (Ronald) Schlaupitz of Rochester Hills, MI., Judith (Thomas) Stopyak of Hale, MI., William Adolph and Karen Carrier of Davisburg MI., sister, Mae Rokicki of Chesterfield, MI.: sister-in-law, Virginia Adolph of Fraser, MI; grandchildren, Christopher (Marie) Schlaupitz, Eric (Lauren) Schlaupitz, Ryan (Elena) Schlaupitz, Valerie Schlaupitz, Ashley (Ryan) Wright, Matthew (Erin) Stopyak, Austin Adolph, Andrew Adolph, and many nieces and nephews. Erwin is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Horst Adolph; brother-in-law, Richard Rokicki.

Per Erwin’s wishes cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hale, MI. on 6-24-22 (Fri) at 11:00 am. An online guest registry is available at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com to share condolences and memories of Erwin.
