Ron Pipesh, 87, of National City

Ronald “Ron” Clayton Pipesh, of National City, formerly a resident of Whittemore, passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, age 87 years.

Ron was born in Whittemore on August 18, 1934 to Clayton and Effie (Chipps) Pipesh. He was a graduate of Whittemore High School with the class of 1953.

Ron spent most of his career with the quality control division at National Gypsum. After Ron’s retirement from National Gypsum, he was able to spend so much more time doing his favorite activities! Ron truly loved the outdoors, especially in the hot summer when he could be outside on his lawn tractor.

Ron also enjoyed spending time in the woods hunting and on the lakes and rivers fishing. He was a long time active member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Tawas City. Ron’s legacy will forever be cherished by everyone who knew and loved him!

Ron is survived by his wife and best friend, Colleen Pipesh, to whom he married on August 4, 1956. Together the couple have celebrated 65 beautiful years of marriage! Ron is also survived by his 2 loving children, Steven (Jessica) Pipesh and Randy (Tracy) Pipesh; 2 grandchildren, Randy Pipesh Jr and Jasmyne Dixon; 1 sister, Peggy Savage; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Effie Pipesh; sister, Jean DeLosh; 3 brothers in law, Joe DeLosh, George Blust, and Robert Savage.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside burial with committal prayers will take place at a later date in the Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Tawas City with Pastor Mark Lindloff officiating.

Those wishing to express their sympathies are encouraged to consider a donation to the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Ron’s name.
