Ed Jock, 66, of Houghton Lake

Edward Bernard Jock, 66, of  Houghton Lake passed away on Tuesday April 5, 2022 at University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor.

Ed was born on November 29, 1955 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan to Bernard and Mary Lou (Hartman) Jock. The family moved from Mt. Clemens to Houghton Lake in 1969.  Ed attended Houghton Lake Community Schools graduating in 1973.  On October 29, 1977 Ed was married in Houghton Lake to Kelly Jean Kopischka. He started his working career as a logger and sawmill operator and then became a mechanic and truck driver for Jack Kopischka Trucking. He later drove truck for Total Crude Oil, SC & J Transport, and WC Transport.  Ed then started his own business, Paradigm Transport, out of Texas.  Ed was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and enjoyed camping, canoeing, fishing,  and especially working.  His special love was spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving Mr. Jock are his loving wife of 44 years, Kelly Jean Jock of Houghton Lake; five sons, Dennis (Betty) Jock of Brighton, Doug (Amanda) Jock of Prudenville, Bryan (Braylynn Crawford) Jock of Houghton Lake, Steve (Amanda) Jock of Houghton Lake, and Cory (Diana) Jock of Houghton Lake; 20 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; two brothers, Charley(Brenda Anspach) Jock of Houghton Lake, and Carl (Sue) Jock of Roscommon; several nieces and nephews.  Ed was preceded in death by his parents. 

Mass of Christian Burial for Edward Bernard Jock will be conducted at 12:00pm on Wednesday April 13, 2022 from Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Prudenville, with Fr. Peter Eke officiating. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake. Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 12, 2022 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel.  Memorial contributions in memory of Ed are asked to be directed to the family.
