Ed Papendick, 68, of Grayling

Edwin William Papendick, 68 of Grayling, died unexpectedly of cancer March 11, 2022, at Munson Medical Center, Traverse City, MI.  He was born June 2, 1953, in Grayling, the son of Clarence Allen and Delores Viola (Steffen) Papendick.

Ed married Terri Lynn Helsel on November 24, 1972. He was a Grayling High School graduate.  He served in the Michigan National Guard and retired from M.A.T.E S.  He was a loyal member of the Grayling Masonic Lodge, serving as Treasurer for many years. Ed loved hunting and fishing and spending time with his family.

He was proceeded in death by his daughter, Angie Moggo and his father.  He is survived by his wife, Terri, daughter, Marilyn Papendick (Jerry Gauthier) of Grayling, honorary daughter Kelly Walters (Todd Lako) of Berkley, five grandchildren, Mason Papendick (Torrey Messerschmidt), Maddi Gauthier (Craig Gabriel), Jaden Gauthier, Skyler Moggo (Ciara Chambers), Jensyn Moggo, and great granddaughter Brinley Gabriel (due May 8, 2022).

Also surviving are his mother, brother Russell (Pat) Papendick, sister Christina (Jim) Bassett, brother Perry (Vickie Nichols) Papendick, sister Renee (Mike) Moery and many nieces and nephews.

No services are planned at this time.  A Masonic Service will be held on a later date. Condolences can be shared with Edwin’s family at www.sorensonlockwood.com.
