Ernie Hollister, 68, of Beaverton

Ernest Ralph Hollister of Beaverton, Michigan, passed away suddenly on March 11, 2022, in Beaverton. 

Ernie, “Papa Bear” – “Big Ern”, was born in Bay City, Michigan to Marie and Ralph Hollister on September 16, 1953. He graduated from Handy High School in Bay City. He was a Veteran, Staff Sergeant, in the United States Air Force and served our county for eight years as an Electronic and Cryptological Equipment Systems Technician. 

He is survived by his daughters, Kristen (Matt) McKimmy, and Jessica (Tom) Murrell; grandchildren Brenna McKimmy, Darby McKimmy, Mikayla (Patrick) McKimmy-Bennett, and Tommie Lynn Murrell; great grandchildren, Annalyn Bennet, and Xander Bennett. His sisters, Donna Jean Hollister, Janet Miller, Sarah Hollister, and several beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Ernie is preceded in death by his mother and father, Marie and Ralph Hollister, his sister Kathy Arndt, and his significant other Colleen Wagner. 

Ernie loved his family and friends, the outdoors, and a great Sci-Fi. He will forever be loved and missed by all who were blessed to know him. Rest in peace papa bear, we love you always and forever.
