David Schreiber, 60, of Grayling

David Alan Schreiber, 60, of Grayling passed away unexpectedly on March 2, 2022 at his home.

David was born to Calvin A. and Marilyn “Peggy” (Gildner) Schreiber in Grayling on September 22, 1961.

He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid archer and hunter, always looking forward to his hunting trips with family and friends. He also enjoyed playing baseball and in his later years softball.

He was a hard worker, building homes with his father, family and those that became like family to him. He started working with his father Calvin in high school and after graduating from Grayling High School in 1979, continued to work with him until he took over the business in 1992.

He loved children and he and his wife Candy were foster parents for many years. He showed how much he cared through his hard work and willingness to help anyone in need throughout his community. He is going to be dearly missed by so many.

David leaves his wife of 40 years, Candace “Candy” (Alma) Schreiber; children Justin (Lauren) Schreiber, Lee Schreiber and Sierra (Ghayge) Toomey; grandchildren Calvin Schreiber and Kelsey Schreiber; siblings Lynn (Mike) Hunter and Richard (Yvonne) Schreiber; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, mother and brother John Schreiber. Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 11:00 am with visitation starting before at 9:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 708 Peninsular Ave, Grayling, MI 49738.

Donations in memory of David can be made to Grayling Baptist Church, 705 Madsen St., Grayling, MI 49738.
