Nancy Lupo, 77, of Fairview

Nancy A. Lupo, age 77 of Fairview, Michigan, passed away at McLaren Hospital in Petoskey, Michigan on Monday, February 14, 2022.


Nancy was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on January 25, 1945 to John and Sarah (Scott) Schild.

Nancy’s life was the epitome of red; her favorite color. Her passion and love for those around her was immense. There wasn’t an unkind word that ever escaped her.

The mother of 3 beautiful boys, Nancy devoted her life to creating and cultivating their hearts and minds. Any cat who was ever in need could find a home in her. She and her husband Jim spent their golden years in her late parents’ cabin, where they welcomed their grandchildren to the love filled, wooden escape.

She was the center point of a family who have always seen her as the kindest and funniest woman to grace their lives. Nancy’s selflessness will never be forgotten, and her warm smile and quick come-backs made her a wonderful mother, grandmother, wife, and woman.

Nancy was a very active person, she was involved in many groups and activities. She was a Jacette, a CCD teacher, a Den Mother, and a member of Today for Me. She was active at St Mary’s Church in Jackson, Michigan and also St Mary’s Church in Mio, Michigan. She was also a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus.


Nancy is survived by her husband James A. Lupo; her children: Peter (Cathy) Lupo and Mike Lupo; her grandchildren: Jesslynn (Ryan) Lupo, Kirsten (Jeff) Atchinson, Amberly Lupo, Nick Lupo, Maddie Peterson, Kristian Lupo, Rachael Peterson, Anthony Lupo, Hannah Peterson, Elliot Lupo, Michael Peterson, and Clara Lupo. Also surviving her are her great-grandchildren: Robbie and Gabriel Silvestri, and Rowan Hernandez; her brother-in-law Gene Jones, and other family members: Kayre Lupo, Kathy Natale, and Ann Sniderman. She was preceded in death by her parents: Tony & Betty Schild, and her children Elizabeth Jean Lupo and David Allen Lupo.


Visitation on Sunday, February 20, 2022 from 3 – 8 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI, with a Rosary and Prayer Vigil Service beginning at 7 PM. She will lie in state at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mio, Michigan, on Monday, February 21, 2022 from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM with Father Santiago Hoyumpa as Celebrant. Interment will take place on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Washtenong Memorial Park in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
