Everette Bugg, age 86 of Curran, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Medilodge in Alpena, Michigan with his family beside him.
Everette was born, raised and lived in Curran his entire life. In his early days, he was a heavy equipment operator for road construction. In the early 60’s, he started Everette Bugg Forest Products and operated the business for more than 60 years. He was very proud that he hauled the very first load of wood into Weyerhaeuser in Grayling, back in January of 1982.
Some of his favorite mottos in the woods were: “We’ll do the best we can with what we have” and “Shut that machine off, you’re wasting fuel”.
Everette is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy (Dierck) Bugg; his children: Roger (Audrey) Bugg of Curran, Roxann (Trent) Gascho of Fairview, and Shelly (Jim Hamelin) of Curran; his sisters: Louise Indish, Martha Mendyka, and Rose Mahalak; his grandchildren: Jaymi (Troy) Frizzle, Chad (Amber) Bugg, T-Jay (Maggie) Gascho, Heather (Roger) Gascho, Jeramy (Kirsten) Raymond, and Patrick (Jenna) Raymond; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Everette was preceded in death by his parents: Harry and Carrie (Conrad) Bugg, and his siblings: Phyllis Baldwin, Harry Bugg, Jr., Edward Bugg, Marjorie Phinney, MaryAnn Mahalak, George Bugg, and Lyle Bugg.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
