Ernest Hooper, 55, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022 with his loved ones and family by his side.
He was born February 11, 1966 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Ernest “Buck” Hooper and Joan Hooper.
Ernie and his girlfriend of 19 years, Becky Swartz, resided in Standish, Michigan. Ernie thoroughly enjoyed his love for music. He played guitar and shared his musical talents with several people over the years. Ernie was a tool and die maker. He enjoyed cooking and making different kinds of jerky for his family and friends. He loved his race truck and cruising around in it with Becky. He loved to make others laugh by constantly telling jokes.
Ernie is survived by his Mother Joan Hooper, and his daughter, Shelby Lynn Hooper. Becky’s children John Paul Swartz (Tiffany), Josette (Keith) Rang, Jalene Swartz and his grandson, Isaiah Vance. Becky’s parents, Lyle (Betty) Schmidt, and Ernie’s 3 sisters, Jane Reichenbach, Joanie (Bryan) Reinhardt, and Janet Schoenherr (Jeff). Also, his nieces, Amanda Reichenbach (Michael and Jace) and Aubrey Schoenherr (Rob); his nephews, Cory Reichenbach and Dylan (Tiffany) Schoenherr and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was pre-deceased by his Father Ernest “Buck” Hooper, his brother-in-law Kevin Reichenbach, aunt Karen Hooper and Sandra Hooper.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date with inurnment at Woodmere Cemetery.
