Inez Brooks, 86, passed away on December 30, 2021 in Houghton Lake. Inez was born on September 24, 1934 in Sterling, MI to the late Toras and Beatrice (Jardo) Fisk.
Inez graduated from Sterling High School in 1953. She married her high school sweetheart on April 9, 1952 in Bentley, Michigan. She worked for the Flushing, MI school district for many years before she and Ralph moved to Houghton Lake in 1982.
Inez liked to garden and relax on her yard swing. Most of all she loved spending time with her granddaughters and great grandchildren.
Surviving Mrs. Inez Brooks are one son, Bill (Karla) Brooks of Kansas City, MO, and one daughter Barb (Robb) Goodnow of Houghton Lake, MI; Grandchildren, Marisa (Will) Morrison of Houghton Lake, Kendra Levitan of Harrison Twp., Andrew (Kasandra) Miller, and Katherine Pitner; and great children, Brantley and Waylon Morrison, Lydia and Brock Miller, Grace and Ellie Pitner.
Services for Mrs. Brooks will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Christler Funeral Home, 6651 W. Houghton Lake Dr. Houghton Lake, MI 48629, at 6:00 pm with a visitation being held from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Her service will be officiated by Mr. Lon Cook.
In-lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the River House Shelter in Grayling, Michigan.
