Edgar William Kalthoff, 86, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, December 30, 2021. He passed away at home.
Edgar was born March 9, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Edgar N. and Evelyn (Schultz) Kalthoff. He married the love of his life, Marguerite Thiel, on August 27, 1955, and they spent 65 wonderful years together. They raised three children, built, lived, and operated Kalthoff Marine for 14 years in Mt. Clemens before selling the business and moving to Roscommon. Edgar and Marguerite were devout Catholics who enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, camping, traveling, and spending time with their family and friends. His family will fondly remember him as a conversationalist and wonderful storyteller.
Edgar will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his children Chris (Barbara) Kalthoff, Lynne (Don) Borchers, and Daniel (Laura) Kalthoff; grandchildren Nikolaus (Darci) Kalthoff, Trevor (Ashlee) Kalthoff, Cameron (Kristen) Kalthoff, Julee (Dustin) Blackstock, Justin (Jessica) Green, Rob (Terri Ann) Kalthoff, and David Kalthoff; great-grandchildren Meaghyn and Elouise Blackstock, Adalyn and Aiden Kalthoff, and Jordyn Green; sister Kay (Dale) Matthews; sister-in-law Joan (Ed) Singler; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his wife Marguerite Kalthoff.
Family and friends will gather for a Memorial Service at St. Michael Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 11:00 AM, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Masks will be required at the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made in Edgar’s name to St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, Roscommon.
