Gary R. Walters, age 74, of Roscommon passed away on Wednesday January 26, 2022 at Munson Healthcare-Grayling Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Gary was born on January 31, 1947 in Garden City, Michigan to William and Ruth (Miller) Walters. He retired from Ford Motor Company after many years where he worked as a mechanic. Gary was married on June 30, 1984 in Pontiac, Michigan to Janie S. Dixon. The couple moved to the area over 18 years ago. He loved Hot Rods and Classic Cars and enjoyed working on them with his son.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 37 years; Janie S. Walters of Roscommon, children; Amy (Arthur) Liebetreu of White Lake, Jeffery Walters of Farmington and Wendy (Michael) Merz of Livonia, step-children; Timothy Coblentz of Iowa City, Iowa, Lloyd Coblentz of Tiffin, Iowa and Danielle (Thomas) Bogs of Iowa City, Iowa, fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, sister; Marlene Walters of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson; Brian Merz, step-son; James Coblentz, sisters; Beverly, Darlene and Patricia.
Per Gary’s wishes cremation has taken place and private family services will be held. Christler Funeral Home-Prudenville Chapel is serving the family.
