Andrew Stanley Micklash, 82, of Hale

Andrew Stanley Micklash, age 82, of Hale, Michigan passed away Christmas Eve, December 24, 2021 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with both of his daughters by his side. 

Andrew was born August 8, 1939 in Bad Axe, Michigan to the late Stanley Leo and Mary Helen (Smakulski) Micklash. He met and married the former Janice K. Knoblock on May 30, 1964 in Port Austin, Michigan and together raised four children, Linda, Eric, Yvonne, and Andy. He owned and operated Andy’s Market in Kinde for almost 20 years prior to retiring to Hale, Michigan. In the winters, he and Janice would spend their time together in Florida. He enjoyed fishing, polka dancing in Michigan, Florida and other states with Janice. He enjoyed sharing “shots” with the grandchildren, and spending time outdoors.  

Andrew is survived by his children, Linda Thompson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Eric (Jewel) Micklash of South Branch, Michigan, Yvonne (Kenneth) Klebba of Imlay City, Michigan, and Andy (Teresa) Micklash of Iron Mountain, Michigan; grandchildren, Justin, Krystal, William, Kristopher, Stoch, Lena, Matthew, Cassondra, Jacek and Katlynn, four great grandchildren; sister, Louise (Willard) Mazure; his cousin, Daniel Brady who was more like a brother; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janice and sister, Lucy Karash. 

Visitation for Andrew will take place from 9-11:00 a.m. Friday, December 31, 2021 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3901 M65, Hale, Michigan 48739. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Tony Cureton officiating. He will be laid to rest in Esmond Evergreen Cemetery with military honors following the mass.
