Tim Herron Francis, 85, of Beaver Creek Township

Tim Herron Francis, 85, of Beaver Creek Township, passed away on October 19, 2021. 

Tim was born on August 25, 1936 to the late Lewellyn and Margaret (Herron) Francis in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. He served in the US Army. Tim married the former Betty June Massingill on May 16, 1959 in Ortonville, Michigan. She preceded him in death in 2003 after 44 years of marriage. Tim and Betty moved to Grayling in 1971 and was the former co-owner and operator of Pine-Aire Motel in Beaver Creek Township for seven years. He was also the owner of Tim Francis Whitetail Realty. Tim retired from KAR products. Tim had mastered the art of conversation. He loved telling stories and reminiscing with friends and family. Tim was sure to put everyone else first. He loved traveling with Betty and hunting with his sons, grandkids, and brother in law Jess.

Survived by his children: Julie (Chad) Flowers; Joseph (Jennifer) Francis; and  Kevin (Hope) Francis, all of Grayling. Grandchildren: Kelsey Logan, Shane Joseph (Larissa), Brandon Hunter, Margaret  “Maggie” Mae, Shantel Marie (Jarid), Rachel Amber, Maire Lindsey, and Amanda Renee. Sister: Jan Robinson Brothers: Butch, John, and Gary Francis and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty, and brothers Rollin and Richard Francis.

Celebration of Tim’s Life will be held on Saturday, November 6. 2021 at 12:00 noon. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery with Military Honors at 1:00 p.m. Reception will follow interment at Beaver Creek Township Hall.
