Roy William Willett, 93, of St. Helen

Roy William Willett, age 93, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at his home in St. Helen, MI surrounded by his family.  Roy was born on September 29, 1927 in Forester, MI to William and Maude (Baird) Willett.  He lived in St. Helen since 1970, formerly from Flint.  

Roy served in the United States Army.  He was very well known for his guitar playing and had a country western band called Roy and the Boys.  They started playing in the mid 60’s and into the early 80’s.  Roy enjoyed playing pool and was on leagues throughout the years.  He used to fly airplanes and was a firefighter in California for several years.  While living in Michigan, he was a youth minister, but his main profession was a brick mason.

Roy is survived by his children, Bradley (Marjorie Thomas) Willett of St. Helen, David Willett of Roscommon, Marie (Charlie) Denda of Inverness, FL, Carroll Pilon of Houghton Lake, Victor Pilon of Lansing, and Gina (Tony) Blindt of Fort Madison, IA; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and sister, Ruth Devere of Elberton, GA.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Ellen L. Willett.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
