Kenneth Campbell, 89 of Roscommon

Kenneth E. Campbell, age 89, of Roscommon, died on Monday, March 29, 2021, at his home in the presence and comfort of his family.

Ken was born November 12, 1931 in Roscommon, Michigan, the son of Freddie and Lulu (Thompson) Campbell.       

Ken will be remembered for truly being an avid outdoorsman.  He loved the woods and enjoyed hunting back in the day.  He was known for being an extraordinarily talented self-taught musician.  Ken proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1961, attaining the rank of staff sergeant, and included peacetime service in Korea.  Ken was larger than life and had a smart wit. Everyone loved to listen to him reminisce and share his fascinating stories.  Ken was a man of routine and was extremely dedicated to his career and family.  

Ken will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by daughters: Renee (Tom) Gilley-Gates and Roxann Campbell; grandchildren: Monique, Chelsey, Nash; great-grandchildren: Carter, Jack; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and greats.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Fred Campbell.

Family and friends will gather from 1:00 PM until the time of the Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, 143 Lake Street, Roscommon, Michigan  48653.

The family prefers memorial contributions be made in Ken’s name to: A-T Children’s Project, 5300 West Hillsboro Boulevard, No. 105, Coconut Creek, Florida  33073 –  in honor of Ken’s grandson Jack.
