‘Tom’ Bailey Jr. of Houghton Lake Charles Thomas “Tom” Bailey Jr., 54, of Houghton Lake passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday March 24, 2021.

Tom was born on July 14, 1966 in Lansing to Charles and Rebecca (Grantier) Bailey. He moved to the Houghton Lake area with his family at an early age and attended Houghton Lake Community Schools. He was a member of the 1985 graduating class. Following High School, Tom served as a PVT in the Marines. He was married on September 17, 1994 in Houghton Lake to Kristina L. Tesler. Tom was a heavy equipment operator working for Operating Engineers Union Local 324.  He enjoyed playing pool and darts, but his true love was the outdoors.  Tom was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved spending time with his family.

Surviving Mr. Bailey are his son, Charles T Bailey, III of Gladstone; daughter, Madison Bailey of Escanaba; former wife Kristina Bailey of Escanaba; three sisters, Valerie Kirtland of West Bloomfield,, Tina Barnes of Grand Rapids, and Liza Forbes of West Bloomfield. uncle and aunt, Ron and Ann Johnson of Florida;  several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Tom was preceded in death by his parents. 

 In Lieu of flowers and donations the family asks that you take a moment to hug your child, grandchild, or friend, or take a walk in the woods for a moment, an hour, or a day.
