Carla Marie (Masson) James
Age 80, of Twining, MI, formerly of Marlette, MI passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 28, 2026 at the MediLodge of Tawas City, MI. She was born on June 3, 1946 in Lapeer, MI to the late Carl Hartwick and Irene Marie (Brown) James. Carla graduated from North Branch High School and went on to attend Delta College, obtaining her Associate’s Degree in Business. On May 11, 1967 she married Albert Masson, beginning a journey filled with friendship, love and memories. Carla was a member of Judson Baptist Church and found great joy in serving others and teaching Sunday school for many years. Over the years, she also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Carla is survived by her loving husband, Albert; children, Sarah (Karl) Brandenburg, Mary (Mike) Petersen and Jerry (Michelle) Masson; brother, Bill (Jeanine) James; sister, Joann (Roland) Smith; grandchildren, Nicholas, Heidi, Destiny, Renee, Caleb, Zachary, Sarah, Johnny and Phillip; 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Carla was preceded in death by her brothers, Carl and Jerry and sister, Betty. The family will welcome friends on Thursday, July 2, 2026 from 11 A.M. until the time of service beginning at 2 P.M. at Judson Baptist Church in Prescott, MI.
