Lance Thomas Fischer, 51, of Houghton Lake passed away on Thursday March 11, 2021 at home.
Lance was born on August 23, 1969 at Selfridge Air Force Base in Mt. Clemens, Michigan to Bernard and Phyllis (Rogers) Fischer. He moved with his family to the Houghton Lake area in 1978 where he graduated from Houghton Lake Community Schools. Lance went on to attended Kirtland Community College. He was a “jack of all trades” and most of his working career was spent as a roofer for local contractors. He had also worked several years in the oil fields for oil Companies in Texas, New Mexico, and West Virginia. Lance enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and off-roading. His special love was being a hunting guide in the Houghton Lake area.
Surviving Mr. Fischer are his son, Damien Fischer of Tallahassee, FL; three brothers, Joe (Jen) Fischer of DeWitt, John (Iris) Fischer of Seymour, IN, and Bruce (Edie) Fischer of Franklin, VA; two sisters, Annette Bell of Apple Valley, CA, and Bernice Burgess of Highlands, TX; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Lance was preceded in death by his father, Bernard H Fischer.
Celebration of Life services for Lance Thomas Fischer will be conducted at a later date. Interment will be in Crestview Cemetery, Markey Township. Memorial contributions in memory of Lance are asked to be directed to the family. Christler Funeral Home, Prudenville Chapel is serving the family.
