June Elizabeth Derocher, age 88, of Roscommon, died on Wednesday, February 19, 2019, at home in the presence and comfort of her family in White Cloud, Michigan.
June was born Friday, June 26, 1931 in Port Huron, Michigan, the daughter of George and Emily (Sheffield) Barshaw. June married Donald Derocher on July 9, 1949 in Pinconning, Michigan. June enjoyed sewing, quilting and reading. She was passionate about drawing and painting. Her family remembers one of her drawings being published on the front of a magazine in Newark, New York. June will be remembered for being an awesome Grandma. She always would bake snickerdoodle cookies anytime the grandchildren would visit.
The family jokingly mentions she is survived by a huge stash of material. Seriously though, June will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Sharon (Bruce) Wieten of White Cloud, Michigan; grandchildren: Kristina Hren of White Cloud, Michigan, Laura (Ken) Custer of Muskegon, Michigan, Robert Wieten of Portage, Michigan; great-grandchildren: Zachary, Emily, Wade, Jazlynnmarie, Christapher, Nicholas, Zoee; great-great-grandchildren: Piper, Leum and Dahlia; sister Barbara (Floyd) Pettit of Ludington, Michigan; also survived by Todd Hren and Tiffeny Wieten; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
June is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, son Ronald, niece Denise Siegwart, brothers Gayle, George, Daniel, and sister Marilyn.
104 North 6th Street, Roscommon, Michigan 48653. The Funeral Mass will be held at 12 Noon on February 28, 2020 also at St. Michael Catholic Church.
June will be laid to rest in the spring at Gerrish Township Cemetery, Gerrish Township, Michigan.
The family prefers memorial contributions be made in June’s name to Harbor Hospice of Muskegon and St. Michael Catholic Church.
