Thomas Michael Pilant, 81, of Houghton Lake

Thomas Michael Pilant, 81, of  Houghton Lake passed away following a long illness, on Wednesday January 22, 2020 at home with his loving wife by his side.

Thomas was born on November 28, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan to Gordon and Eugenia (Benzak) Pilant. He grew up in the Detroit area and received his Bachelors Degree. Thomas was a Commercial Artist in the Detroit area, working from his own studio in Birmingham.  On August 27, 1989 in Houghton Lake, Thomas was married to Maria  Flores. The couple had been coming to Houghton Lake for many years and moved to Houghton Lake permanently from Birmingham in 2001.

Surviving Mr. Pilant are his loving wife of 30 years, Maria  Pilant of Houghton Lake; sister, Roseanne Morris of Sterling Heights; several nieces and nephews.  Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Eugene Pilant. 

A Celebration of Life gathering for Thomas M. Pilant will be held in the summer.  Memorial contributions in memory of Thomas are asked to be directed to the charity of the donors choice.
