Albert Joseph Hayes, age 91, of Higgins Lake, died on April 30, 2019, at his Florida home in the presence and comfort of his family.
Albert was born December 23, 1927 on the farm in Bourret Township, Michigan to Edward and Lillian (Mansfield) Hayes.
Albert married Leona Sheltrown on June 12, 1948 in West Branch, Michigan.
Albert retired from GM as a General Supervisor after thirty years. He was an avid golfer, hunter and part-time farmer. Albert was a longtime member of the Roscommon Masonic Lodge. He and Leona enjoyed dividing their time between Florida and Higgins Lake.
Albert will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife Leona; children: Bruce (Carol) Hayes of Higgins Lake, Tom (Dinah) Hayes of Higgins Lake, Lynn (Bill) Kippe of Fenton; grandchildren: Denise Hayes, Bill Kippe, Brian (Kristina) Kippe, Mark Krabill, Steve Krabill, Tim Krabill; many great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Albert is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Roy.
Family and friends will gather on Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, 143 Lake Street, Roscommon, Michigan 48653. The Funeral will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 12 Noon, also at Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors. Elder Gilroy Burgeson will be officiating.
The family will have a private interment at Edwards Township Cemetery.
The family prefers memorial contributions be made in Albert’s name to the Donor’s Choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, Roscommon.
