Eva Hose

Eva L. “Edie” Hose, 82, of Houghton Lake passed away on Wednesday May 16, 2018 at Mid Michigan Hospital in Midland.

Eva was born on May 3, 1936 in Halifax, Nova Scotia to Clarence and Esther(Cook) McKay. She graduated from high school in Halifax and then attended Murphy Business College. Edie was a homemaker and a busy mother of three daughters. She was married to George Charles Peters who was killed in action during the Vietnam War. On April 29, 1972 in Houghton Lake she was married to Chancy “Duff” Hose. Edie was a member of Houghton Lake VFW Post #4034 Auxiliary, Houghton Lake Eagles, Houghton Lake Moose, and Am Vets. She enjoyed reading, an avid bingo player, an occasional trip to the casino, and playing Santa Claus at the Senior Center and for little children.

Surviving Mrs. Hose are her loving husband of 46 years, Chancy “Duff” Hose of Houghton Lake; three daughters, Kathy Kamppi of Puyallup, WA, Denise (Ernie) Green of Lynn Haven, FL, and Julie(Lance) Peters of Houghton Lake; step-son, James (Precilla) Hose of Hanover; fourteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and her special friend, Oscar. Eva was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lisa Marie Peters; and step-son, David F. Hose.

Funeral Services for Eva L. “Edie” Hose will be conducted at 1:00pm Wednesday May 23, 2018 from Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel with Rev. George Spencer officiating. Interment will be in Lake Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 22, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel. Memorial contributions in memory of Edie are asked to be directed to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, 1235 South Clark Street, Suite 910, Arlington, VA 22202 (VVMF.org).
