Curtis “Fred” Galliher of Houghton Lake

Curtis Fredrick “Fred” Galliher, 81, of Houghton Lake passed away on Saturday July 15, 2017 at King Nursing and Rehabilitation Community with his loving family by his side.

Fred was born on September 15, 1935 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Curtis and Beatrice (Spencer) Galliher. He spent most of his life in the Houghton Lake area. Fred worked as an auto body repairman. He owned a shop in Houghton Lake, now Lewis Brothers Collision, before moving to Alabama in 1973. Fred returned to Houghton Lake in 2011. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving Mr. Galliher are his son, Greg (Cindy) Galliher of Houghton Lake; daughter, Kim (Dave) Mcfarlane of Houghton Lake; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth (Judy) Galliher of IN, and Bobby (Barb) Galliher of FL; several nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeffrey Joel Galliher; and four sisters, June, Alice, Eleanor, and Marie.

Private family services for Curtis Fredrick “Fred” Galliher will be conducted. Memorial contributions in memory of Fred are asked to be directed to Alzheimer’s Association Greater Michigan, 25200 Telegraph Road, Suite 100, Southfield, MI 48033 or www.alz.org.
