Gregory Joseph Mink of Higgins Lake

Gregory Joseph Mink, 60, of Higgins Lake passed away April 27, 2017 at home.

He was born in Detroit on June 12, 1956 to Bertram Joseph and Irene Patricia (Hoffman) Mink. He married Nancy D. (Burkholder) March 13, 1987 in Livonia.

He was a resident of Higgins Lake since 2001, and Houghton Lake from 1993 to 2001, coming from Detroit.

Mr. Mink was employed in housekeeping by Mercy Hospital, Grayling for 10 years, retiring in 2007. He also drove truck in the Detroit area for 20 years and California for two years.

He enjoyed blues and rock music, electronics and computers. He had been a roadie for rock bands in his younger years.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy; son, Greg Mink of Waterford; brother, Michael (Mary Beth) Mink of Goodrich; and sister, Patricia (Paul) LePlae of Brighton.

Also surviving are brothers-in-law, Richard (Gail) Burkholder of Grosse Pointe Farms and David Burkholder of Traverse City; sisters-in-law, Sandy Mink of Davison and Carolyn Eleinko of Hemet, CA and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bertram Mink, Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., May 20, at Messiah Lutheran Church, Roscommon with Pastor Renee E. MacLeod officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the family.

Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon is serving the family.
