Willodean Crowe of Houghton Lake

Willodean Crowe, 83, of Houghton Lake passed away February 26, 2017 at Grayling Munson Healthcre Center.

She was born on November 2, 1933 in Southfield, Alabama to John and Arie (Webb) Thacker. She grew up in the Flint area where she graduated from Flint Beecher High School. She was employed as a teacher’s aide by Flint Beecher Schools for many years.

Willodean married James A. Crowe on November 28, 1954 in Columbus, Georgia. She was a member of Roscommon Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and enjoyed sketching, word searches, crossword puzzles, quilting, and loved playing Scrabble.

Mrs. Crowe loved spending time with family and especially grandchildren.

Surviving are her four daughters, Donna (Ricky) Janzen of FL, Kathy (Gary) Pease of Houghton Lake, Beverly Campbell of FL, and Wendy Inman of Flint; two sons, James (Kay) Crowe of Texas; and Bob (Shannon) Crowe of Houghton Lake; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James A. Crowe; two grandsons, Gary Pease, Jr., and Cory Gunther; and three brothers.

Memorial services will be conducted at the Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall, 450 N. Roscommon Road, Roscommon, at 11 a.m. March 2. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake.

Memorial contributions in memory of Willodean are asked to be directed to Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall.
