John Arthur Rescoe of Houghton Lake

John Arthur Rescoe, 82, passed away January 18, 2017 at his Houghton Lake home.

He was born on November 17, 1934 in Detroit to Harry and Polly (Genick) Rescoe, where he grew up and attended school. He served in the Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Rescoe was employed as a tool and die maker for several companies in the Detroit area. He moved from Brighton to Kalkaska after retirement and then moved to Houghton Lake more than 10 years ago. He was a member of American Legion, and VFW and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating.

Surviving are his two nieces, Diane Thompson of Canton, and Julie Batman of Jeffersonville, IN; nephew, John Rescoe of Grosse Isle; and several great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

At the request of Mr.Rescoe, no services will be conducted at this time. Interment will be in Denton Twp. Cemetery, Prudenville.

Memorial contributions in memory of John are asked to be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospitals.
