William B. ‘Ben’ Bresette of Roscommon

William B. “Ben” Bresette, 86, of Roscommon, passed away Jan. 15, 2017 at home.

He was born April 1, 1930 in Elgin, IL to John P. and Dorothy Rhoda (Way) Bresette. He married Ethel R. ‘Bertie’ (Blissard) June 11, 1951 in Gibson City, IL.

The family moved to Roscommon in 1970 from Jacksonville, NC.

Mr. Bresette retired in 1970 after 22 years in the US Marine Corps as a Mess Hall Gunnery Sergeant. He served during Korea and Viet Nam. He was a member of the Fleet Marine Corps Reserve.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports and his grandchildren.

Surviving are three children, Cynthia Budd, Jeanne Emerick and Joe (Theresa) Bresette, all of Roscommon; nine grandchildren; three great-grandsons; and two brothers, Allen Bresette of Indianapolis, IN and Gordon Bresette of St. Helen.

Funeral services were conducted at Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon with Nancy Bresette officiating. Burial will be at Crestview Cemetery, Markey Township.
