William Edmond Schermerhorn of St. Helen

William Edmond Schermerhorn, 71, of St. Helen, passed away Oct. 29, 2016 at The Lighthouse of Roscommon.

He was born in Inkster Sept. 10, 1945 to Monroe and Anna May (Kitchen) Schermerhorn, and married Sindy S. Baker there on June 28, 1980.

Mr. Schermerhorn resided in St. Helen for six years, coming from Westland. He was employed as a mold maker by Guardian Glass in Detroit for 16 years and worked at Flotech in Plymouth for 10 years.

He was a member of Faith Alive Church in St. Helen. He enjoyed woodworking, model trains, fishing and hunting.

Surviving are his wife, Sindy; four children, Sandy Schermerhorn of Inkster, Ed (fianc+¬, Fancy San Cartier) Schermerhorn, and Wesley and Thomas Schermerhorn, all of St. Helen; six grandchildren, Janikay, Billy, Josh, Kristen, Nicole and Matthew; and seven great-grandchildren, Devin, Shelby, Kaylyna, Sernity, Michael, Drake and Troy.

Also surviving are brother, Ron (Doris) Schermerhorn of Ferndale; and two sisters, Donna Schroeder of Cadillac and Carol Kuck of Sterling Heights.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will take place at noon on Wed. Nov. 2 at Faith Alive Church of St. Helen with Pastor Tim LaVere officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, St. Helen.

Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon handled the arrangements.
