Richard William Frushour of Houghton Lake

Richard William Frushour, 73, of Houghton Lake passed away quietly September 27, 2016 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City due to complications with diabetes and heart disease.

He was born on June 26, 1943 in Highland Park to Richard and Pearl (Gelisse) Frushour. He served as a SP4 in the Army from 1964 to 1966, spending 16 months overseas with the US Army Pacific.

On February 21, 1987 in Clinton Twp. he was married to Margaret Rose Mallord. The couple moved to the Houghton lake area from Clinton Twp. 21 years ago. He was employed as a hi-lo driver for Chrysler Corporation for many years from which he retired.

Mr. Frushour was a member of the Houghton Lake Eagles and enjoyed spending time with family and his golden retriever, Molly.

Surviving are his loving wife of 29 years, Margaret Frushour of Houghton Lake; son, Douglas Mozal of Richmond; daughter, Michelle Mozal of Macomb Twp.; and two granddaughters, Anna and Amanda.

Also surviving are sister, Donna Van Luchene of Gaylord; two brothers, Robert Frushour of Chesterfield Twp., and MIchael Frushour of Missouri; nieces and nephews, Bridgette(Jim) Harland, Chuck(Faye) Van Luchene, and Scott(Kathy) Van Luchene.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

At the request of Mr. Frushour there will be no services. Memorial contributions in memory of Richard are asked to be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
