Anthony Albert Ricci, 101, of Houghton Lake and formerly of Livonia, passed away May 30, 2016 at King Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre.
He was born August 16, 1914 in Vancouver, British Columbia to Cesare and Concentina (DeCurtis) Ricci. He had spent time from 1932 to 1935 working at the Higgins Lake Civilian Conservation Corp. Camp. On September 16, 1939, in Detroit, Anthony was married to Mary Ellen Shalagan. He operated a shoe repair shop in Detroit for two years and was employed in the 1940’s by Sav-Way Industries doing quality control for military projects and later making Vogue Picture Records. He also was employed for 25 years by Burroughs Corporation as a Quality Inspector
Mr. Ricci enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, spending time with his family, and going to the casino, which his family enjoyed with him at Soaring Eagle for his 100th birthday following a birthday celebration at King’s.
Surviving are two sons, Robert (Linda) Ricci of Prudenville, and Richard (Beth) Ricci of Berkley; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Ellen Ricci; and son, Anthony N. Ricci.
Private family services will be conducted. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery.
