Maynard Dean ‘Dino’ Ayers of Houghton Lake

Maynard Dean “Dino” Ayers, 64, of Houghton Lake passed away May 29, 2016 at home with his loving family by his side.

He was born on November 19, 1950 in Dowagiac to Clyde and Betty (Whitmeyer) Ayers. He was employed as a construction Worker for many years, owning and operating Dean’s Handyman Services. On November 4, 1987 in Kalkaska, Maynard was married to Linda Freeman.

He enjoyed fishing, going to the casino, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his loving wife of 28 years, Linda Ayers of Houghton Lake; four daughters, Melissa Dominquez of AZ, Dana Crane of WV, Tina Osterhouse of Kalkaska, and Rhonda (Mike) Cross of Roscommon; son, Scott Barnhart of Houghton Lake; several grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are a brother, Ron Ayers of FL; sister, Marty Ayers of Kalkaska; several nieces and nephews.

He was precededed in death by his parents and brother, Wes Ayers.

Celebration of Life services for Maynard Dean Ayers will be conducted at the family home.

Memorial contributions in memory of Maynard are asked to be directed to the family for final expenses. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
