‘Speedy Gofers’ assist housebound residents

ROSCOMMON – There is a new service being offered in the Village of Roscommon and the surrounding area called ‘Speedy Gofers’

Spokesperson Carol Johnson said in a release that the goal of Speedy Gofers is to match up folks who want to help in the community with housebound residents who have needs that are not currently being met.

The ‘home-bound’ residents, whether by age, illness or chronic illness sometimes find themselves with errands to run on days when caregivers, family, or friends are not available, and are willing to pay a fee for someone to help meet their needs for the day.

The ‘gofers’ are folks recruited from churches or caregivers looking to help out and earn a little extra spending money.

If you fit either of these categories, please call 989-275-3128 for more information.
