Mary Magdelene (Litwaitis) Velgos, 87, passed away June 12, 2016 in St. Helen. She was born to William and Magdelena (Svelnis) Litwaitis on September 2, 1928 in Detroit, and resided in St. Helen since 1970, coming from Warren. She graduated in 1947 from Pershing High School, Detroit.
Mrs. Velgos was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the American Legion Post 416. ,
Surviving are by her brothers, William Litwaitis of Mt. Clemens, and Matthew (Cheri) Litwaitis of Carlsbad, CA; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Joseph Velgos.
Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen is June 15 from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Pastor Ken Peterson will officiate.
