Girls on the Run supports community organizations

ROSCOMMON – Girls on the Run is a program to build self esteem, encouragement, and empowerment for the girls. With each practice there is a lesson, then the girls train to run a 5K. Support runners can run along with the girls.

Roscommon has two teams: 3rd-4th grades and 5th-6th grades. The teams are selling T-shirts to raise money for the program. The proceeds help sponsor future Girls on the Run members with registration and purchasing shoes and other supplies.

The teams also choose a community organization to support. The 3rd-4th grade team is giving needed items to Hilltop Manor. The 5th-6th grade team is supporting the Roscommon County Animal Shelter.

Anyone interested in purchasing a T-shirt can contact Emily Barber at emily.barber2010@gmail.com.
