Wolverine woman arraigned on habitual theft charges

OTSEGO COUNTY – Troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Gaylord Post were called to a residence in Otsego Lake Township in November 2021 for a reported theft.

The owner of the home alleged a friend had stolen items from her home while she was out of town. The friend, 40-year-old Patricia Nicole Hamsher of Wolverine, was asked to watch the home and the owner’s dog while she was out of town in October.

When the homeowner returned, she noticed items were missing from her home. She located several of her items at a local pawn shop. The items were recovered by troopers, but several other items were unaccounted for.

A report was turned over to the Otsego County Prosecutor’s Office and an arrest warrant was authorized on Feb. 10. Hamsher was arrested at her home Feb. 18 and lodged in the Otsego County Jail where she bonded out.

Hamsher was arraigned March 21 in the 87-A District Court in Otsego County for one count Larceny in a Building and Habitual Offender Fourth Offense.

Her next scheduled court appearance is on April 7, 2022.
