Range firing schedule: May 17-23, 2021

GRAYLING – This week Camp Grayling is active and busy from south to north with lots of range activity from Monday through Sunday.

“South Camp” Ranges located west of Lake Margrethe are active daily from Monday through Sunday. Expect to hear small arms and machine gun fire from Ranges 1-19, through Sunday. Additionally, Range 20 Demolition Range will be in effect starting Wednesday through the weekend. The airspace above the range is restricted for military use. Roads leading into range 20-21 will be CLOSED to civilian traffic. Sounds from high explosives can be expected locally.

Range 13 Mortar Range will have activity all days this week as Range 15, the Mk.-19 and Range 17-17A, hand grenade ranges are in use. These ranges are located at the west end of Beaver Road and is fenced in. Additional military traffic may be encounter on the adjacent trail around Range 13 and a small area may be blocked while the range is “HOT.” The Bypass Route between Military Road and Howe Road.

Residents living near the MPRC located northeast of Grayling may hear machine gun fire Monday through Friday, as the range will be active. All Roads and trails will be CLOSED to civilian traffic this week, from Stephen Bridge Road east to Wakely Bridge Road.

Camp Grayling’s Range 40 Complex, and Air to Ground Range, will be active during Friday through Sunday. Area residents, such as Guthrie Lakes subdivion may hear the sounds of mortar fire through the weekend. For public safety roads and trails adjacent to the Range 40 Complex will be CLOSED during this period.
