Traverse City woman charged in B & E

TRAVERSE CITY – A Traverse City woman was arrested and charged with breaking and entering.

According to a statement from the Michigan State Police (MSP), on Sept. 12, a trooper from the Traverse City Post was dispatched to a report of a breaking and entering at a residence on Meadow Woods Drive in Traverse City.

A relative of the occupant was going to the residence daily while the occupant was away. The relative noticed the back door had been forced open.

Video surveillance was reviewed and the suspect, known to the relative and occupant as 27-year-old Ashlee Judith Middaugh from Traverse City, was observed inside the residence and taking items from the home. Middaugh was interviewed and arrested a short time later. She was lodged in the Grand Traverse County Jail.

Middaugh was arraigned in the 86th District Court in Grand Traverse County on one count Second Degree Home Invasion Unlawful Imprisonment, and one count Lying to Peace Officer.

Bond was set at $5,000 cash / surety.
