Hale man walks out of Family Fare without paying for carts that included alcohol, and car parts

GRAYLING – On Tuesday, January 25, 2022, troopers from the Michigan State Police
(MSP) Houghton Lake Post were called to the Family Fare store in Grayling for a retail fraud complaint.

A man, identified as 52-year-old Daniel Arthur Zarzycki of Hale, was standing outside the store with two shopping carts full of items he did not pay for. The store manager said she saw Zarzycki exit the store with the carts full of unpaid merchandise, which included alcohol, dog food, automotive items, and groceries. The total amount of the attempted theft was $763.


Zarzycki was taken to the Crawford County Jail, and he bonded out. He was arraigned yesterday in the 46th District Court in Crawford County for one count Retail Fraud First Degree, 2nd Offense.
