Driver crosses centerline; forces semi off road

CADILLAC – Michigan State Police (MSP) troopers responded to a tractor-trailer accident early this morning.

According to MSP statement, about 8 a.m. this morning (July 7) a motor carrier officer was dispatched to North 47 Rd near East 14 Road in Cedar Creek Township for a single vehicle rollover crash.

The initial investigation indicates a tractor-trailer truck pulling two trailers containing gravel was traveling on N 47 Rd when a car passing a truck in the opposite direction was coming head on towards the semi.

The semi driver, a 59-year-old Manton woman, took evasive action to avoid a head on collision and ran off the roadway causing the semi and two trailers to overturn. The semi driver suffered only minor injuries and did not require medical treatment.

The driver of the passenger car did not stop and fled the scene.
